I used nails to remove a radio before. Can't remember the size. Just find some that will slide into the wholes snugly, then pull the radio out by the nails. A little wiggling and shaking helps.
Hope this helps.
I'm in the Portland, OR area if you want to borrow my Saab tool if you'd rather go that route.
