why would you ever want to remove it? and what would you replace it with that's nicer? how long do you plan to have the car ..another 20 yrs? If you pinch it down (using shims and alligator clips) around the spkr holes(or you may get a little "roll"/lump in hot weather) and load the windshield side with a hose and the front edge with "cripple studs" to the ceiling , it should work out very well. be sure to put adequate amount of the silicone in and around the sunglass depression. Trim the windshield side area to accept the Vin tag and note if the curled front edge doesn't eclipse the silver instrument panel bead as you load it. Good luck
