Bill,
The clutch is hydraulic therefore it is not normally subject to change of pedal position i.e. it is self adjusting. If it is engaging low (from my experience on my own Saab) it indicates incomplete bleeding or slight seal leakage bypass in the master or slave cylinder. Seal leakage in the master can be the seals themselves or a worn cylinder wall. My problem was the later for many years before I changed out the cylinder. After replacement the friction point was high on the pedal travel. As mentioned by others..make sure that there is no slop in the mechanical linkage between the brake pedal and the plunger yoke of the master cylinder. I am sure you will come to the right solution...Dana
