As of 9 this morning. I swapped in an ECU I pulled from a '90 NA car and had buried in old parts piles, and after hooking up battery, tried it and it fired right up and ran as good as always. Which is to say, not perfect, same idle hunting and occasional high idle as always, but revs up fine and has full power.
Or else, could it just possibly have been the corroded-looking ground wires I wiggled, at the usual suspect grounding point at right side below radiator? Once I clean that area up, reterminate the wires and reattach, I'll reinstall the old ECU and test it, to see which it was.
As to the APC confusion, what IS that box just inside left outer fender on a non-turbo? EZK? That's what I swapped, with one from junkyard '91. Brief swap, no effect, back to original.
I know I've read on here lots of specifics about what years you can use what number ECUs on. A crude search last night couldn't find any of that. Does anyone know? If the bad ground wasn't the problem, I want to get another spare to have around, maybe even carry in the car, in case this comes back. It was beginning to shake my faith in my Saab.
