Agreed that age makes it worse, but my '84 came new with a dead alternator and over the next two years I made more 85 mile trips to the dealer for electrical parts warranty than I could count.
In this case, the blower is dead, even though the fuse is good and there is power to the fuse. In the past when I blew a fuse, there was always a brief burned/hot electrical smell. This time nothing.
BTW, in removing the dash fascia, after removing the radio and four long screws, can the fascia just be pried out? In the past I could never get it loose and didn't know if it was the wood trim cover holding it in or something I missed.
