i just bought an '88 SPG...it was in really good shape i thought...engine ran beautifully...never overheated...electrical was all in perfect order...interior in superb shape except three minor easy fixes...paint needed a wax but was great....it had been in an accident on the front pass side and some rust was underneath near there and the suspension area...and so one day i hit a bump and then was accelerating on the brooklyn bridge and apparently the control arm and subframe separated (there was rust there) and caused my inner driver to split along with messing with the transmission. not very much fun. i am selling the car on the classifieds now and offering to deliver it (not driveable). i thought about replacing the underside and cutting and welding etc but its not worth it...hopefully someone will take advantage of the good parts to keep their spg alive or transfer to a 900 turbo...if i can make a little of the money back i am going to look around and wait for the right SPG or even get back in a 9000 turbo....do it right the first time!
