Did you bleed the cooling system after you refilled it when changing out the reservoir?
If so, this is a sign that your head gasket has failed. A break in the gasket, if it happens to be the cylinder next to the leak, will let the cylinder's residual compression bleed into the cooling system, which overpressurizes it. The excess pressure and expanding/boiling coolant will keep moving upward until it meets the only outlet designed into the system- the expansion cap.
Has the car really most sincerely overheated lately?
