Those number ranges you typed about refer to the last seven digits of the VIN. Beginning with 900 number 110,407 a newer-style gasket was used. The G is the model year code for 1986. If you don't know what year the cars in the junkyard are, you can usually find the tenth digit of the VIN somewhere and get it from there. I don't think they use vowels because '88s are J and '93s are Ps.
A similar break identifies the external versus internal centering of the gearshift (mid '86) and the inner driver cup size (mid '86) and which type of fuel pump at which orientation (early '88, late '89 I think).
