Depends where you are located, and how much of a pain in the butt the mech. is. If the work is painful in MHO you should get a discount over going rates in your area. If your mechanic is sending out the speedo for repair figure at least a $100 for that, if not more.

Another question, is are parts included? Do you have the clutch kit and dash already?

What were you quoted?

Lots of variables in this equation-----need more info. BTW there is more then enough info in the archives if you want to do this job yourself. None of it is particularly hard if you have a good set of tools, and the time and space to muddle through it.
