First big rain with my convertible I heard a sloshing sound unrelated to my drinking. After first thinking that my fuel tank must be kinda low I began investigating the doors and rear quarter panels, but couldn't find anything in the dark and rain.
The next morning I walked out to the car and noticed a small puddle behind the drivers side door. On the bottom edge of the car there are a few rubber spigots for want of a better term. I flicked these (much like milking a cow) and was greeted with a gloopy mess of water, dust, and bits of plant matter.
Seems that over the years the dust and grime from the top plugged up the drains in the rear quarter panel. Rain easily gets in there since it's where the top drains.
Moral of the story: Milk yer car.
