Your stock reflectors are not designed for (i. e. won't work with) gas discharge lamps. The optics are designed for the alignment and pattern of an incandescent bulb. Also, the plastic reflectors are unsuitable for the heat generated with gas discharge lamps. All of these "upgrade" kits are not street-legal. To improve the lighting pattern, I suggest you find a set of european-spec lights. Although US DOT lighting codes have jumped out of the sixties (where the codes were based when our 900s were built) to where they will allow euro lights had the car been new, technically it is still illegal because they don't meet the codes in effect when the car was manufactured. However, the optics and bulb strength are sane enough that people going the other way won't flash their lights at you.
For auxiliary lights, if you want poor-weather lights with a wide pattern aimed close to the car for use with your low beams, get fog lights (real ones) and aim them properly. If you want better visibility straight ahead when no one else is around for use with your high beams, get driving lights (real ones) and aim them properly.
