There is a metal "tang" on the side of the cover towards the inside center of the top dash. It not only holds the cover in place, but also serves to apply pressure to the air ducting for the windshield defroster tube to keep it in place as well. You will either need to pull up until it releases, or try to push a flat screwdriver into that spot to pull the metal tang away from the dash (it stays attached to the speaker cover). There are also two plastic tabs at the far end of the cover nearest the windshield on opposite sides. Once you release the metal tang, then pull the cover towards you to slide these plastic tabs out from under the top dash.
