Retaining pin? Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Tue, 7 Oct 2008 19:00:57 In Reply to: Front brake calipers, Carlisle, Tue, 7 Oct 2008 17:34:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
At the back of the "C" pin there is a little retaining pin. Remove the retaining pin. Then you should be able to lever it out with a flat-blade screwdriver.
As to the rotors, the exact answer is 'it depends.' First, measure the thickness with a micrometer. If they are solid, the minimum thickness is 0.44 inches. If they're vented, the min thickness is 0.709 inches (for up to and including 1987). If the rotors are under thickness, replace them. If they're badly grooved up, replace them, But a little wavy-ness is OK.
