My view - probably in the minority is that you will have fewer reliability issues with a non-Turbo.I say this for three reasons all of which are impressionistic and not backed up by hard data.
First, I see far more turbos in the junk yard that are there because they have been in a crash. Purely a guess on my part - because there could simply be more turbos on the road but I think it relates to the way they are driven - hard and fast (and of course not recklessly) as compared to their normally aspirated cousins.
Second, there are more components on a turbo and therefore more that can go wrong.
Third, judging from the posts on this site turbos put greater stress on transmissions and mounts when accelerating (assuming they are driven hard).
Most of my above assumptions are based on the belief that drivers of turbos are really nice people deep down - but they have a fast car and want to prove that that is the case.
Of course if you have access to repair records etc and it can be proven that the Turbo is in tip top shape then what I have said above is meaningless because its just a broad generalization across a population of cars and not a reference to any specific vehicle you may be interested in buying.
