2+2 carb cleaner is the best as long as you rinse directly after cleaning with 2+2 carb cleaner. Just look into the holes on your AIC unit for GRAY deposit. I not much is in it , just use WD-40. Try the WD-40 first to see if it does the cleaning job. Always keep the electrical end of the AIC upright so the cleaner doesn't run down the shaft into the electric components. So many mixed opinions of this question. I have cleaned many AIC with this method without failure.
