I have a 1992 900s vert, i'm in the process of tuning it up and figured i'd give the diff. new fluid. I bought 80w90 gear oil cause i thought that was what it needed. Then I started reading on here and in my chiltons service man (which has no fluid spec's god knows why) And I read about the borgwarner transmission and that it takes 3.0 pints compared to the normal 2.6... so I drain the fluid from the drain plug (which I thought 92 models didn't have a plug...) and the fluid that comes out kinda smells like gear oil but its VERY thin I mean almost like kerosene thin. I can't find the fluid spec for the borg warner differential fluid and it also makes me wonder about the type F I bought to put in the tranny itself... HELP anyone know what I should use?
