If the easier approached won't work there is ALWAYS another way, but gee only if you have to. Thats through the lower almost center of fire wall where the shifter goes through the rubber seal/boot from bottom of shifter to the transmission. You have to remove center console directly below front ash tray. then forward part of center ignition cover. take out screws that hold carpet down at door seal and metal strip aft of engine control module (pass. side0. Maybe you won't have ttake out Pass seat. Draw back carpet, Carefully draw back sealthat shifter shaft runs through, use good light to see clamp and bolt. Visit chiropractor after adjusting for your adjustment. Good luck. Do this way ONLY if you fail other approaches and if you run out of cuss words.
