it is either the axel, or the inner cv joint driver that is attached to the tranny. no your transmission isnt toasted. it is really easy to do, whichever is the problem. shoot me an email if you want directions, im about to do this job myself. had the same exact thing happen on my other 91 900. it only gets worse. it will shudder so bad you will think the car will fall into pieces
