Slipping Auto Trans or inner Drive Joint Posted by Bob_SAAB_101 [Email] (#460) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bob_SAAB_101) on Sat, 22 Nov 2008 07:53:38 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi
I'm about to change my inner drive, actually the whole axle including inner drive. I've never done it before but I feel confident reading the posts regarding this installation. Car is a C900 Vert 1994 with the 2.1 auto.
I took the car for a quick drive around the block after a good warmup. I notice what seems to be the inner drive issue but it also seems like the transmission is slipping on acceleration. It also seemed to slip on corners and when accelerating after coasting.
Here are my questions:
Could this be caused by the inner drive issue. What I'm hoping is that the inner drive is binding and the binding is putting a strain on the Trans. Am I pipe dreaming?
Also, if anyone has any tips for the axle replacement please let me know. I'm doing the passenger sida as the drivers side looks good.
