Car sat for a year.Stuck brake caliper piston. Freed up piston and decided to change the front brake pads. When I was turning the pistons in I mistakenly left the resevoir cap on instead of letting the overflow spill out on piston compression. I must have driven a few days with the brakes partially on.. I thought I smelled telltale hot brake pad.Anway the car seemed to run and stop OK no binding or pulling so I drove it for a week or so. This morning when I started the car the brake fluid warning light came on...checked the resevoir and it was down quite bit.I topped it up and went for a drive and it stops OK but I'm wondering where the fluid went? No apparent leaks. Is it possible the pads wore down ,the pistons moved out and the brake fluid resevoir level went down? Can brake fluid boil itself out from overheating?
