Convert springs vs. Hatchback springs

I'm trying to get more lift in the butt of my hatchback. I'd also like to lower the front some but thought I'd start with the back. I'd also prefer to have the car maintain it's height better when packed with our camping gear.
A friend of mine recommended puting convertible springs in the rear since convertibles are heavier.
Are convertible rear springs stiffer, taller or thicker?
Thanks
Tushy
