Many years ago a friend had an old VW van that hadn't run in a few years and he asked me to go get it started. He said that it also had a slow leak in one tire that would be flat by then so I took the back seat out of my red 1968 Saab V4 DeLuxe model 96 (what a car!) and squeezed a fully charged up air compressor in there with my tools. I'm driving into St. Louis on I-44 in a blinding, pouring rainstorm when I see a car with it's flashers going on the left shoulder. I pulled in a couple of hundred feet ahead of it and run back to find two young ladies who clearly have never changed out a flat tire before. I get the spare from the trunk and it's totally flat (from neglect, new tire). At that point they start to be real upset but without saying anything I just grab the spare and take off running to my Saab where I aired the tire up. When I got back the ladies were almost crying, they thought I was stealing their spare! I don't think they imagined that there was an air compressor in that funny little red car. I put the spare on the car, rain still coming down in buckets, and they drove off. Saab roadside service to the rescue!
