As I recall to get to one bolt I had to hack-drill a notch out of the edge of a plastic flange on the bodywork where heater core goes.
And on reassembly it was real touchy, stack valve on top, on the o-rings, while poking screws up from below and sliding nuts in above, without lifting valve up, so o-rings stayed in their places.
I decided it would have been much easier to pull heater core and valve together, which I'll do if I have to face this on another car.
