Many years back, some guy stopped on the turnpike at night SHOT THE HAT OFF a statie, then took off. He made his way to one of our local towns, where a cop on patrol spotted his plate and took after him. Guy hung a hard right and almost immediately, a second right into a narrow alley between a store and a church.

If he'd had one of those switches he'd have gotten off unpunished. But, the alert cop, going around the turn, spotted the glow from the guy's brake lights in the alley, turned around and found the car. The guy had bolted, off into the neighborhoods, and the cops hunted him most of the night till dragging him (alive and I guess unhurt) from the swampy woods. At one point one of the cops fired his pistol, at least once.

They take it pretty seriously when someone threatens their brothers. They never did find the gun. State cop wasn't hurt, I think the guy got off pretty light.

Those switches are favored by burglars and mobsters. (Which are you?!?)
