what's the weather like there? is the temperature hovering around zero or has it been raining a lot or is there high humidity? or is there even a lot of heavy snow that melts quickly?

I have had the exact same problem under these circumstances - its wiring related and yes corrosion appears to be the problem - fuse box not the likely culprit but right in the various connectors themselves
all you can do is drive around and pray for drier weather.
