if you didn't already do this... take a bolt from the transmission just to the left, perhaps the one you may have removed to take the ground strap off... and screw it finger tight till it bottoms into the end of the shaft where the plastic propeller looking one was...
then... take a LARGE cresent wrench and put jaws on the round side of that bolt and tighten down so that it's touching the round part, basically you can't slip it over the head.... then hold the cresent wrench and smack the wrench as close to the transmission as you can with a hammer, or the handle of a 1/2 " ratchet wrench. It should pop right out. no worries about clamping or positioning, if you left the clutch clamped down it's good to go...
should that not work... same setup, get a block of wood and fit against the transmission and between the cresent wrench, the traditional lever arrangement, then hit then end of the wrench with a rubber mallet...
