i need some suggestions, my shifter broke at the weld where the shaft goes into the metal ball. and the thin bolt that pulls up the reverse lock pin also broke. i need to find a way to pull the pin up to get the car out of reverse, so i can put a new shifter in.
there isnt enough space between the pin and the innerwall of the shaft to grab it with needle nose pliers, is it safe to drill into the pin, put a screw in and use that to pull out, or to cut off some of the shaft so i can more easily grab it. the shifter isnt going to be reused.
thanks for your help.
