I had a similar thing happen, upon pulling the valve cover at the begining everything was lined up perfect. Then once I put everything back together the intake cam Tdc mark was about a degree off to the right and the exhaust cam was a little more off. I refit the chain for a couple of hours but couldn't get it any closer then that. I rotated the engine a couple of times without any binding so I put the rest together. No issues on start.
