The lifters pump down. I've had them clatter for 20 min before they finally quiet down. That was on an engine that sat for a few years. I suspect yours will quiet down if you run it for a little while.
Look into a new radio from Crutchfield. The Clarion radios that came in the 900's were cool looking but always had problems. Even if you find your code, I bet something will be wrong with the radio.
