YES, I think it is the Hall sensor at the crank. Find a earlier (pre1989 16 valve non turbo distributor with about 2 1/2 foot of the hall sensor wiring . Get a 3 prong headlight wiper plug wire it to the hall sensor wiring and retro fit the hall sensor to the newer hall sensor wiring. This nwill test if the problem is the crank shaft pulley hall sensor. You may also use a turbo type distributor (easier to find, but disable the vacuum advance. If the car runs and cont's to run when warm you may continue to use the distributor with hall sensor untill you have to go into that area to replace a seal or that squealing CS pulley.. I have also had the spark intensifier on the left fender wheel well cut out whan hot. A way to test components that go bad when warm is to chill them down with that computer dusting spray that has a cold warning on it then try to start when cool. Also a hair dryer on syspected components can help the prolem occur under controlled setting when car is sitting in driveway idling
