on some places when removing an old top, i have seen duct tape covering hard ware. i don't recall what the rubber add Spacers that keep top from rubbing other top frabric when down? on bumpers that go between the top main joint is suppose to do. are they in? My "new top" i was putting on yesterday has a 1/2 inch cut that i will try to fix from under neath as it was a horrible experince trying to get the frame bolted back in and i am going to get some use out of it before i put a new top on. i have relaced tops before and it would have been easier and a lot less frustrating to have replaced the cloth top than the entire frame, finishing up today , and will look for solutions to issues poster wrote about
