This conversion is taking many weeks because every time I look, I think of something else to do with the engine out.

So Far:
Cleaned out engine bay. Cleaned out grease, POR15 on any rust spots (Battery Tray!)
New engine mounts
Flush out cooling system
Radiator and Heater hoses
All new seals for transmission
New belts
New alternator bushings
Remove interior - notice burned wiring!
Wash carpet with power washer -
Interior somewhat rust free other than one rust spot each pan, driver and passenger. When grinded out the rust spot became a hole.chop out small rust hole on floorpan, add metal and POR15 where appropriate.
Buy and paint new heat shield - install
New interior heat shield pad. Pull wiring out of melted plastic wiring tray - install tray from parts collected for conversion.
Dynamat on interior floor
Switch shifter from manual to automatic housing to keep same key and wiring.
Cleanout all old oil out of manual transmission, remove and inspect all gears.
Clean engine.
Install clutch pedal and new master
New half shaft for passengers
Swap auto axle final drivers from autobox as they are new (new seals too)
Tune up including plugs, wires, dist, and rotor
Clean and condition leather seats while out.
get alarm system to work with old BMW keyfob (it does!)
CLean out trunk - POR15 in any rust spots (Trunk is solid)
Install new rear oil seal
new pilot bearing after flattening pressure plate
clean and redo grounding at shifter groundpoint

Still to do:
Clean convertable top and condition with 303 protectant
Paint Engine Block
attach transmission to engine
replace all seals on transmission
Fix hole near rear drivers side tailight metal.
New Clutch, slave, Pressure Plate, Hydraulic hose
New wiring for temp sensors (old is corroded)
Install engine in car
Install shifter, adjust same
Install interior clean again.
test drive
Clean and polish outside.

Take wife for drive to beach! (even if it's winter by then.
