More accurately, the connector to the assembly is a bad design. Several signals have to pass from 1 side of contacts on the connector to the other, including the ground. Over time this goes bad. Any EE will tell you connectors are the first things to fail in electronics, and this one is not a good design.

Jen, this is a FAQ. Check the FAQ for the c900 for the easy fix (or Townsend's site).

That *should* solve your problem. That said, I have had it go bad again for another reason in the connector even with the ground fix, and repaired it in the connector. If it fails again, I am soldering the wiring harness directly with no connectors! No point buying a new assembly - waste of money imho...
