Hi Frank,
I note that this is your first post on the c900 board, Welcome!
It does sound like someone has started you down the right path, recoring or rodding out or all those other radiator repair things really don't pencil out when you can get a new radiator for about $140, as the others note.
As Larry said, make sure that the issue is the radiator rather than a hose that has split. Either could be the issue. If you are not completely up for the do-it-yourself of doing that see if you can find a friend that is? While Saabs do have many unique charistics, a leaking radiator or leaking hose is pretty universal on a car and if you have a friend that is a VW, Toyota, or other brand fanatic... chances are they can help you figure out if it's a hose, radiator, or loose clamp.
If you do take it to a dealer, and not an independent (aka Indy) you will pay more for the basic parts than you would at http://www.eEuroparts.com which is site sponsor.
I'm not saying to avoid a dealer, just want to set your expectations.
