It's Fairly easy to do and was a regular "repair technique" back even a few years ago on this Very Board.
Basically the Large Frame wears where the caliper slides on it.. doesn't take much wear/clearance for the clunk and when it wears significantly the Clunk is horrendous... Familiar ?? :-)
Run a small Weld bead on the lower slide surface then grind it down for a snug fit on the caliper. Takes a bit of fiddly work but shouldn't take more than a hour per caliper. NONE of the rebuilders even touch this worn area, so the problem (Clunk) just gets worse.
