Suction sound in motor oil dipstick tube? 87 900T Posted by scott47 [Email] (#119) [Profile/Gallery] (more from scott47) on Wed, 15 Jul 2009 17:52:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have been working on getting a 1987 900 Turbo back on the road and have been having problems with an oil leak. At one point it was more of a pour than a leak but I finally figured out it was because the oil was at least 1 quart over filled. While it was pouring out I found that it appeared to be coming from the area that the oil pressure relief valve is supposed to be. After changing the oil and adding the correct amount the leak seems to have stopped (or at least it's not as bad) but I can hear a suction sound whenever I pull out the dipstick. Can this mean that the oil pressure relief valve is still open or are there any other places I should look?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Scott
