A photo of the vacuum diagram is here: http://mysite.verizon.net/vzep8ucm/ I am puzzled by "to ventilation system" with an arrow pointing up. That vacuum line goes to the vacuum canister just ahead of the right door. All is OK there. The routing to the charcoal canister is just as shown, one line to the manifold and the tank line plugged into the other opening.
The rubber on the car was in pretty bad shape. When I got to 3 leaking vacuum lines I replaced all of them under the hood. I also found one leaking line under the dash (it had been pinched in a burglar alarm install) and replaced it. All the others checked out OK. Car idles fine at this point but I do have the cruise disconnected while I locate a working cruise vacuum switch. The line to it is plugged off in the meantime.
