CEL back on after replacing O2 sensor. Posted by Wil W [Email] (#1148) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Wil W) on Sat, 1 Aug 2009 13:07:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My CEL is back on again.
I had this CEL intermittently for the last several months and finally built my code reader and read the codes. I had the 12225 code for O2 sensor. I checked they sensor and it was putting out 0.0-0.4 v, so it seemed my sensor was bad. I purchased one and had my mechanic replace it as I was unable to contort myself or a tool to remove the severely stuck sensor.
After replacing the O2 sensor, I cleared the codes and all was fine for a couple of days. But then my CEL came back on and has stayed on. So today I pulled the codes again and got the 12225 code again for O2 sensor, but I also got 12114 for "AIC self-compensating circuit problem". According to Bently's this code will not stay on with this fault. Was this a possible result of the computer trying to adjust to the new O2 sensor inputs and thus threw this code when it overcompensated?
My bigger concern is why I still have the O2 sensor fault. I need to recheck the out voltage still but any thoughts on why I still have the CEL after changing the O2 sensor?
Thanks
Wil W
