Not hard, just fiddly... Posted by Larry West [Email] (#1140) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Larry West) on Tue, 11 Aug 2009 07:51:34 In Reply to: How hard are they to remove?, 88SPG, Tue, 11 Aug 2009 06:49:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Each panel comes off in its own way. Door panels come off by drilling out all of the rivets along the inner bottom edge of the door. Tilt the bottom of the panel out slightly, and SLIDE the panel off to the rear.
Panels in FRONT of the doors come off by unscrewing or drilling out the fasteners just inside the wheel well (removing the wheel well moulding first), and again sliding the panel to the rear (note: you MUST install these panels BEFORE the door panels, and remove them AFTER the door panels.)
Panels behind the doors come off like the others above, but they slide off the rails forward.
NEVER try to lift the panel off the rail, Always slide it off or on.
The bumper extensions differ, depending on whether you have the sloped headlights or the flat headlights. With sloped headlights, they come off just like the non-SPG bumper extensions. Remove all the screws attaching them to other things, and lift them off the rails.
With the flat headlights, the extensions require bumper removal, and once all the fasteners are removed, slide them off towards the nearest end of the car (fronts go forward, rears go aft).
