Hello fellow Saaber--welcome.

I maintain the Commemorative Edition Registry (saabce.com), so my first order of business as always is to ask you to go to the website and put your car in the registry. There is also plenty of info there and links to websites that can probably answer some of your questions.

On the issue of the seats, I've had good luck with products from LeatherWorldTech.com They have cleaner and dye which is probably what you'll need to get rid of (cover up) the stains. If you go the replacement route, be aware that the piping is not BLACK, it is charcoal gray. The same piping used on the dark gray leather seats that Saab used in the 900s and 9000s of that era. If you use black, it will look wrong. On my first CE, I had the seats redone. I bought a near-perfect set of OEM tan leather seats, and I cut the charcoal piping from a Saab 9000 I found at the salvage yard. I then took that to an auto upholstery place and had them replace the tan piping with the charcoal piping. It cost me $200 for the labor. I can't recall what I paid for the seat skins. I know of 2 '94 Comm Eds that are being parted out at the moment and they may have good seats--that's another option.

There are several places online that sell the German canvass tops. That is fine if you plan to do the job yourself. If you plan to have it installed professionally, check to see that the shop will install a top that you supply--many won't. Shops need to guarantee their work, so they usually want to buy the top from one of their own trusted suppliers. I know that cabrioworld.com has German canvass for classic 900s.
