It is quite a challenge to deal with the power steering pump on this model so it takes a little bit more than to just have "pretty good luck".
If you want to pull the whole pump out you need to remove part of the motor mount bracket to get more room and then it is a couple of special rubber bushing on the pump bracket that usually is toast.
The pulley is pressed onto the shaft and it takes a special puller/pusher to get it off and on.
It is also common that the steering rack leak on this model so that needs to be checked out as well and the reservoir is also known to leak and the return hose for the fluid. The pressure hose is not as common to fail but anything is possible on an old car.
All of this is usually a dirty mess down there and it is hard to see the real failure.
