Maybe one of my dumber ideas, but if it is in there securely (and if it isn't, it'll just fall out), it should fix your problem...
maybe a piece of wood...maybe take off the bracket, fit a piece of wood in there with a hole drilled in for the bolt, and put the bracket back on...
