Often clatter like crazy when they are getting old/worn. The oil drains out of them from either wear or too thin an oil :-) and the things clatter away upon startup. *Usually* this happens after a few weeks storage or even from overnite sitting if the wear is significant and the oil is Foolish thin viscosity. Another oil change, 15/40w imo is your first bandaid approach to try.
