I did replace the top with a new one. It is not the easiest job but if you have a comfortable place to do it and the time is a very rewarding and entertaining job. Not sure about using and old top as might not be as jood as it claim and will entail as musch work as replacing it. Important things before you start.Do you need the manual for the job? You will need a helper to keep the top smooth while to staple it.
have all the tools including good contact cement the small ribets and a good stapler. It is very important if you do not have the replacent for the plastic that is ribed to the body where you staple the top to be very carefull when yu take the old. (this job will be do in either case) Get the screws on the front of the top a good soak in penetrating oil because most probably will be corroded by electrolisis (steel screw and aluminium structure).
