I've traced my stalling problem to "probably" crank sensor. I have a 1994 NA.
I'm figuring crank sensor so I get a distributor from an 88 NA but I have no harness. The connector is rectangular and has 3 bars inside. I connected, using alligator clips and the wiper motor plug to connect to the crank sensor harness, right to the terminals but I think I have it wrong. The car starts but the battery light stays on. I shut down and I am now afraid to continue without other opinions.
I checked the Ignition amplifier by spraying with a cooling shot and it seemed that that was my problem, as it started right up after spraying. So I got another ignition amplifier on Ebay and replaced. I still have the problem, after the engine comes to full heat it stalls. attempts to start fail until I give the ignition amplifier a cold shot, then it starts. How likely is it that the second amplifier is faulty?
Are the connectors for the 88 NA distributor available anywhere?
