Jim,
I never saw EZK ignition maps so I can't say what the time should be like when revving up on N gear. Bentley says it should be 14 when idling and about 28 when revving up. What are you readings? Is it smoothly retarded or it's still 14 at e.g. 2800 rpm and 28 at 3000? If it isn't smooth and it jumps right at certain RPM then I'd suspect:
- Tq signal being missing (goes from pin 24 or 25 on LH 2.2/2.4)
- knock sensor connection failure or sensor is not tightened properly
If ignition is good then it may be smth about fuel injection:
- clogged fuel filter
- worn fuel pump
- bad fuel-pressure regulator
- worn vacuum line that runs to fuel-pressure regulator
I'm not sure if EZK is Tech2 ready (or even friendly) or whether one can pull out error codes (like with LH 2.4+ or ABS ECU's), but it may be worth trying some checks with Tech2, unless you've got oscilloscope to test Tq and knock signals and o2 sensor output on the run.
AMM (air mass meter) can give you similar troubles, but in that case I'd expect you to complain on other issues like cold-start and such. And I bet you've already checked that.
