CA smog, managed a "pass"(!) Posted by kenS [Email] (#606) [Profile/Gallery] (more from kenS) on Fri, 2 Oct 2009 12:36:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
'87T, did the usual "TEST_ONLY" pre-inspection rituals (reinstall stock air filter, knock back timing to 14, make sure water injection plumbing is buried and not visible). Tech was very thorough and definitely knew his way around old cars. Numbers were ok, with usual high but still ok NOx: 15mph/1900rpm gave HC 99ppm (max is 116), CO 0.27% (max is 0.74), NO 751ppm (max is 791); 25mph/2100rpm gave HC 84ppm (max is 91), CO 0.21% (max is 0.62), NO 473ppm (max is 730). He also did the new fuel tank leak test, where they clip the vent line to the charcoal cannister and pressurize the tank. My cat is still the original, 22+ years and it still works!
