Have you identified the source of the leak? I mean, if the soft rubber line between the master and the fluid reservoir is leaking, that could make sense. Also, the master is manufactured in such a way, that you can probably make it leak by pushing on the line coming out of it, which is a possibility while wrestling with the heater valve.
