Over the past month, I have been driving with my hand-held gps unit in the car to track speed and distances. I have found that while my speedo reads very close to the gps unit, over a tank or as of last night, 950 miles, the odo is reading a consistant 4.75% high. This is in my '87 TC. The speedo unit has been changed because the old odo died. The one that's in now is out of an '86T. While I'm not running stock tires, you would think that if it was a tire issue, both odo and the speedo would be off.
