The hinges are infinitely adjustable. It's more work, but I think it's better to get the door back in alignment than to make the striker plate match the problem. First, as oldsaab said, check the condition of the upper hinge. If it's damaged, repair or replace it. If it's good, you can make adjustments where the hinge mounts to the car, or to where they mount to the door. If it's sagging, I'd adjust the upper hinge where it goes into the door. You have to remove the interior door panel, then you can access the mounting bolts through the access holes. There are three bolts in the upper hinge. loosen them (and the bottom three a tad) and have someone pull up on the door so that it pivots on the lower hinge. Then tighten the bolts back up and check the alignment. It will probably take a few adjustments before you get it right. be sure to check that the distance between the door and the body panels is the same in the front and back of the door. The front distance is more critical. If it's too tight, the door could hit the rear edge of the hood and damage it.
